What is the difference between CASA and CSA?
The CSA and CASA have partnered in many areas of soccer in Cadillac over the years. As result, both organizations are often lumped into the same entity, which may create confusion.
The Cadillac All Sports Association (CASA) provides recreational sports opportunities for kids in the Cadillac area. One component of CASA is the recreational soccer program. This program operates in the fall and spring seasons and consists of 8-10 games on weeknights at the CASA fields. Age levels served by CASA range from pre-kindergarten to middle school, with a focus on an introduction to the game of soccer. For more information, please visit: www.casasports.org
The Cadillac Soccer Association (CSA) is a 501(c)(3) organization with 150-200 participants every fall and spring season. The CSA's mission is to provide a comprehensive youth soccer program for all youth within the greater Cadillac area. As an organization, we seek to encourage and provide for parental and community support in the instructional and competitive aspect of youth soccer and to support the growth and development of our youth and the development of the sport of soccer. Quite simply, we are grassroots soccer organization that provides kids the opportunity to play and practice in a competitive soccer environment. Currently, we serve soccer players age 8 to 18 in two different state sanctioned leagues.
What is the time commitment for a CSA team?
All CSA teams play a fall and spring schedule. Practices are typically twice a week, starting in August for the fall season, and March for the spring season. A standard training session is 90 minutes long.
Games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, September to October and April to June.
Our tryouts are held the second week of June every year.
How do I register for CSA?
Signing up for a team or program with our club is easy! Simply create an account at CSA Travel Registration, and input your player(s) information. The site will then show you what, if any, sign up options are currently available. Our open team registration period for players u9-u14 is typically March 1 to June 1. After this period, CSA will open individual teams for late registration if open spaces remain on those rosters. If you do not see any programs open for your player(s), contact [email protected] to see if any playing opportunities are currently available in your age group(s).
Our u15-19 high school teams are subject to a tryout process. Our girls' Crush program typically hosts tryouts in June, while our CSA Wild boys try out in November. Monitor Cadillac Soccer for specific information on tryout dates & times.
What does it cost to participate in CSA?
CSA is proud to offer some of the lowest registration rates in the entire state proportionate to the services offered. Our u9-10 players pay just $160 to cover fall, winter, and spring training & games. Registration for all other age groups is only $250. Our CSA high school Wild and Crush teams currently run $200 per player.
Players u9-10 are provided uniforms, while players u11-19 are required to purchase their own kits. This cost can vary but typically is under $100. CSA tries to select kits that will last multiple seasons whenever possible to minimize the frequency of this expense.
Additional costs may include tournament fees, referee payments, coach travel expenses, and league fees. These costs can vary by team.
What is the CSA "Juniors" Program ?
Our Juniors program, formerly known as Academy is designed to introduce our youngest members to the world of travel soccer. Academy teams practice twice a week for 75-90 minutes per session. A select number of games are played on the weekends, with travel strictly limited to nearby Northern Michigan communities.
The goal of the CSA Junior program is to foster a safe learning environment where young players can develop a love for the game of soccer. Our priority is on player development at this age, not the scoreboard. Parents and players alike are expected to operate with this in mind.
What are the Wild and Crush HS Programs?
Our high school Crush (girls) and Wild (boys) programs are the advanced teams of our club. Focusing on players who desire an off season team to train with, the CSA is able to offer advanced level training and competition. The CSA combines players from Cadillac and neighboring high school teams with the purpose of providing a stronger high school player in the next season.
In addition, the CSA is able to offer indoor training in the winter months to any CSA high school member. During the winter season, we host an open futsal session on Saturday nights.
Does CSA offer financial assistance?
We are committed to keeping cost from preventing kids from participating in soccer. This starts with our exceptionally low rate structure, which offers exceptional value for the price point. However, we realize some participants may need more assistance in order to play. CSA does offer a scholarship program that can assist in covering some or all of the CSA registration fee. If you are interested in applying for assistance, email [email protected] to begin the request process. What is expected from CSA members?
The CSA is a grassroots, member driven organization. Without volunteers, we would not exist as the club we operate today. CSA members are defined as the parent or legal guardian of a CSA soccer player. CSA Members serve as coaches, managers, board members, and volunteers on field maintenance days. At our annual membership meeting, members will receive a summary state of the CSA summary, and vote for new or returning board members.
